Directed by Sasiphin Sirivanij
Performed by Individual identifying within the spectrum of femininity — selected through an open call.
How and to what extent does ‘femininity’ correlate to ‘female bodies’? — Is it about appearance, shape, or something deeply felt within the body? — What determines the movements of ‘female bodies’?. What norms or beliefs dictate how they should move? — And if we remove those influences — what kind of body would be left to move freely?
Vessel Unbound returns, now opening up space more widely—embracing diverse forms of femininity, beyond the boundaries of gender, class, or dance experience. This 9-day process invites participants to dig into and deconstruct femininity through movement, to let their own bodies tell their own stories, to reclaim the right to speak through the body—without being interpreted by someone else’s gaze, and to celebrate femininity in their own terms.
